Toto

The Wizard of Oz

Toto was built in 2013 for The Wizard of Oz, produced by Community Theatre Players, Inc., based out of Saranac Lake, NY.  We had a thrust stage with stadium seating, so I had the opportunity to develop a more abstract version of the time honored, lovable companion.

ToTo 2

Australian Toto

I was commissioned to make a new Toto puppet for an Australian theater company in the summer of 2016. I didn't replicate the original Toto exactly, but gave him a more literal appearance, and found the opportunity to make improvements to structure and form that allowed for even more expressive movements.
